Sessions at Core + Co studio are personalised and individually tailored, whether one on one, semi-private (as a couple, or with a small group of friends) or in a group class.  The small sizes of the classes ensure that clients get a level of attention that is second to none.

Core + Co sessions provide a holistic and complete workout, with exercises to strengthen the core, improve posture, increase flexibility and leave you feeling energised.

Pilates and Garuda classes involve the use of your own body in space (kinesthetic), as well as the use of various small equipment in a modern, clean and friendly environment.

Our group classes are a fun and challenging way to experience Pilates, Garuda Barre & Garuda Graha (brick).  We offer a range of classes from beginner to intermediate level, catering for all ages and fitness levels, and of course pregnancy and post-natal.

Both Pilates and Garuda methods offer ideal cross training opportunities to support your current exercise regimes.

Pilates is a body conditioning method designed to increase strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and body awareness. The focus is on elongating rather than contracting muscles. A number of clients do Pilates as a way of improving coordination postural awareness, a greater range of movement, stress relief, as well as for prevention and recovery from injuries. Pilates is a safe, enjoyable and effective exercise method that will enable you to look, perform and feel your very best.   Mat Pilates focuses on developing core and back strength, balance and alignment, and strengthening and toning the entire body and allows you to use gravity to challenge the body.

Garuda is the answer to many people’s quest for a stronger, more flexible, toned body.  Garuda Barre combines the spirituality and practice of yoga, the core strength and focus of Pilates and the balletic grace of dance.  It has all the benefits of a robust cardiovascular workout, while stretching the mind as well as the body. Using the barre you’ll learn to control your body through precise stretches and actions, placing an emphasis on smooth, seamless movements without any stress on joints. Through routines carefully choreographed, you’ll soon develop greater poise and control, and a leaner, more resilient body. This soon becomes clear to clients who end each session with a sense of accomplishment, as well as a deep feeling of serenity and wellbeing.  Innovation has been the guiding force for the brick repertoire. Garuda Graha is the house that builds and maintains us, hence the functionality of the brick (yoga blocks), challenging and fortifying us with a whole new repertoire. Using the yoga blocks as a prop to simplify and expand the pilates repertoire, Garuda Graha provides a challenging workout to instigate bilateral symmetry and instabilities in the functional body.

These sessions are designed specifically for you and your growing baby as well as recovery from pregnancy and child birth, focusing on strength, breath, flexibility, balance and control.  The result is a strengthened pelvic floor, a strong upper body, the ability to breathe deeply into a solid core that supports backs, babies, active labour (and recovery) and posture, while giving Mummy an overall sense of wellbeing. These sessions ultimately focus on diastasis recti rehabilitation (abdomen separation), pelvic floor and incontinence.

Nurture and support your body throughout pregnancy and motherhood.

While women tend to dominate mat classes, Pilates holds plenty of benefits for men who rise to the challenge  — yes, it's hard. A Pilates class can help fine-tune your performance and transform your entire body. Exercises are made up of subtle, concentrated and controlled movements that can help you achieve the following:

+  Build core strength

+  Live more mindfully – forcing you to pay attention & focus on your breath

+  Develop often neglected muscle groups

+  Improve flexibility & mobility

+  Improve balance & posture

+  Increased energy levels

Pilates will work to build long, strong, lean muscles, focusing on the ‘core’ musculature -- abs, back, glutes, inner thighs –  in order to better support the spine in a lengthened position.

More than just core work and breathing, it’s about pure strength – finding it, developing it, and then using it

Guys, sometimes, the best workout is the one you’re not doing yet.  Worth a shot!

Yin yoga is a gentle but highly effective floor based practice with many health benefits. The practice is designed to target and stretch the deeper connective tissues, restoring length and elasticity along with realising fascia and improving joint mobility. Poses are held for longer than other forms of yoga meaning you get more noticeable benefits for mind and body. The focus is on allowing your body to go deep into a pose taking you to your edge and holding it there. Props are used to allow deeper yet supported stretches to enable you to push yourself within a safe, comfortable and controlled environment.

Yin is open to all levels and is a great complement to other forms of exercise. The key benefits:

+ Improves flexibility
+ Reduces stress and anxiety
+ Releases fascia and improves joint mobility
+ Deeper relaxation
+ Quiets the mind
+ Trains and develops the parasympathetic nervous system
+ Trains the mind to stay calm and relaxed in stressful situations

Restorative yoga is the practice of deep relaxation. It is a floor based practice where props are used to support your body enabling you to hold positions longer and create space within your body.

With all the stress and strains in the modern world, it is imperative to take time out of your busy day to relax and recharge. Restorative yoga is an enlightened practice designed to leave your body and mind feeling nourished, relaxed and restored.

Other benefits include:

+ Enhances your flexibility

+ Deeply relaxes the body

+ Boosts your immune system

+ Helps moderate production of stress hormones which in turn encourages weight loss

+ Balances and soothes your nervous system

+ Enables a restful sleep and can help with insomnia

+ Helps recovery from illness

Restorative yoga is for everyone regardless of your age or fitness level. I believe everyone could benefit from the practice and encourage anyone to try it.
